A natural products pioneer for over 40 years, Ray Wolfson has career experience in all channels of the industry: manufacturing, brokerage, distribution and retail. This breadth of experience gives him an insider’s view into how to craft messages that address the unique needs of each audience.
Ray started his career in the Natural/Specialty industry by establishing Nature’s Gourmet, New Jersey’s first natural and gourmet retail store, in the 1970’s; he created a distribution company in 1975, which supplied three states with grains, yogurt and bread; and created the first brand of organic pretzels in the early ‘80s.
In 1978, Ray founded The Matrix Marketing Group, which quickly became the largest natural products brokerage in the Northeast. In 1999, Ray evolved The Matrix Marketing Group from a brokerage to an expert consultancy firm, helping turn brands like Balance Bars and Muir Glen from virtual unknowns to industry staples.
